We are excited to share that Christopher J. Struck has been named a 2025 recipient of the IEC 1906 Award.

The IEC 1906 Award was created to celebrate the founding of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and honors experts around the world whose work is essential to advancing international standards. The award recognizes recent, outstanding contributions that make a meaningful impact in this field.


Chris is the CEO and Chief Scientist of CJS Labs, a consulting firm in San Francisco that focuses on sound and product design. Over the course of his career, he has worked with well-known organizations including Tymphany, Dolby Laboratories, GN Resound, and Brüel & Kjær. He is a longtime member and leader in professional societies such as the Audio Engineering Society and the Acoustical Society of America, and he has also contributed to many other national and international groups.

Today, Chris leads U.S. teams that collaborate globally on acoustics and electroacoustics standards. He has written many papers and articles, and has traveled the world giving talks and training others on sound, audio equipment, and measurement techniques
