New ASA Standards Member: Klem Acoustic Consulting
We’re excited to welcome Klem Acoustic Consulting to the conversation. Their team is dedicated to bringing clarity, precision, and real-world impact to acoustical design. Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions, they combine thoughtful collaboration with rigorous testing to fully understand each space—and the people who use it. By pairing detailed measurements with on-site observations and stakeholder input, Klem Acoustic Consulting delivers tailored recommendations that are both technically sound and practically effective. From pre- and post-implementation testing that demonstrates measurable results to hands-on support during design execution, their work emphasizes transparency, adaptability, and outcomes that truly serve every member of a team.
PINS Announcement: ASA/BSR S12.54-20XX / ISO 3744:2025
PINS Announcement: Standard Revision Initiated A Project Initiation Notification System (PINS) announcement has been published in the ANSI Standards Action, marking the start of an American National Standard revision. This announcement signals an opportunity for stakeholders to get involved early in the process by reviewing the PINS and providing input. This project addresses acoustics — determination of sound power levels and sound energy levels of noise sources using sound pressure, supporting consistent engineering methods across applications. Public Review Opportunity: ASA/BSR S12.60-20XX/Part 1
Public Review Opportunity: ASA/BSR S12.60-20XX/Part 1 The draft standard Acoustical Performance Criteria, Design Requirements, and Guidelines for Schools – Part 1: Permanent Schools is now available for public review through May 11, 2026. Public review is an important step in the standards development process, as it gives stakeholders the opportunity to provide input, suggest improvements, and help strengthen the final document. In this case, the standard is already published as an American National Standard (ANS) and is being submitted for revision. This means updates to the technical content are being proposed for this ANS. In keeping with ANSI due process, the revised document is being balloted to provide the public,
Public Review Opportunity: ASA/BSR S1.22-2021 / IEC 60263:2020 (R20XX)
The public review period for ASA/BSR S1.22-2021 / IEC 60263-2020 (R20XX), Scales and sizes for plotting frequency characteristics and polar diagrams, is open through April 20, 2026. Public review is an important step in the standards development process, as it gives stakeholders the opportunity to provide input, suggest improvements, and help strengthen the final document. In this case, the standard is already published as a Nationally Adopted International Standard (NAIS) and is being submitted for reaffirmation only. This means the technical content in the IEC adoption remains unchanged. However, in keeping with ANSI due process, each standard must be balloted every five years to allow for review and comment. To
PINS Announcement: ASA/BSR S12.86-20XX
PINS Announcement: New Standards Project Initiated A new Project Initiation Notification System (PINS) announcement has been published in ANSI Standards Action, marking the start of a new standards development project. This announcement signals an opportunity for stakeholders to get involved early in the process by reviewing the project and providing input. New ASA Standards Member: NAVAIR
Welcoming NAVAIR to ASA Standards We’re pleased to welcome the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) as an ASA Standards Member. NAVAIR advances acoustic standards by contributing real-world expertise from complex aviation environments, helping ensure that noise and vibration measurement, evaluation, and mitigation practices are both technically reliable and practically applicable. ASA Standards is strengthened by the participation of organizations like NAVAIR, whose technical knowledge and real-world experience help ensure that standards remain relevant, practical, and effective. We look forward to NAVAIR’s contributions and are excited to have them as part of the ASA Standards community.
