ANSI S2WG11
Measurement and Evaluation of Mechanical Vibration of Vehicles
Chair: Kevin Danahy
Scope: Develop and maintain standards for the measurement and evaluation of mechanical vibration of land-based vehicles and ocean-going vessels. Define the requisite instrumentation, measurement procedures, and data analysis and evaluation to adequately characterize the mechanical vibration of vehicles with respect to well defined criteria including occupant performance, structural integrity, and the vibrational environment of machinery and equipment located in vehicles. Liaison with the corresponding ISO standards groups. Coordination of the US vote on related or parallel international standards Responsible for the following published standards:
- ANSI/ASA S2.25 – Guide for the Measurement, Reporting, and Evaluation of Hull and Superstructure Vibration in Ships
- ANSI/ASA S2.26 – Vibration Testing Requirements and Acceptance Criteria for Shipboard Equipment
- ANSI/ASA S2.27 – Guidelines for the Measurement and Evaluation of Vibration of Ship Propulsion Machinery
