S3/WG35: Working Group on Audiometric Equipment

Scope: Develop and maintain standards related to audiometric equipment and audiometric methods (Audiometers, Aural Acoustic Impedance/Admittance Measurement, Audiometric Methods) to ensure that hearing tests performed on an individual with different instruments yield equivalent results when used under comparable test conditions. Communication and liaison with related ANSI WGs. Liaison with the corresponding IEC and ISO standards groups. Coordination of the US vote on related or parallel international standards. Follow and report on current research and industry developments related to these standards.
This Working Group is responsible for the following standards:
- ASA/ANSI S3.6 – Specification for Audiometers
- ASA/ANSI S3.13 – Mechanical Coupler for Measurement of Bone Vibrators
- ASA/ANSI S3.21 – Methods for Manual Pure-Tone Threshold Audiometry
- ASA/ANSI S3.39 – Specifications for Instruments to Measure Aural Acoustic Impedance and Admittance (Aural Acoustic Immittance)
