Working Group on Specification for Acoustical Calibrators

Scope: The aim of the Working Group is to revise ANSI S1.40-1984, American National Standard Specification of IEC 942-Sound Calibrators. The revised American National Standard would specify performance requirements for coupler-type acoustical calibrators including sound pressure level, frequency, and the determination of the influence of atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity, and the effect of electromagnetic fields on the sound produced by the calibrator. It should provide for various methodologies to measure the acoustical output of the coupler-type acoustical calibrator and testing methods for determination of conformance to the requirements of the standard.
