ANSI S1WG01
Working Group on Standard Microphones and their Calibration
Chair: Chad Walber
Vice Chair: Christopher Struck
Scope: Develop and maintain standards for measurement microphones and methods of microphone calibration (parallel with IEC TC 29/WG5). Maintain communication and liaison with related ANSI WGs, relevant US regulatory agencies and relevant IEC or ISO standards committees.
Responsible for the following published standards:
- ASA/ANSI S1.15, Part 1 – Electroacoustics – MEASUREMENT MICROPHONES – Part 1: Specifications for laboratory standard microphones
- ASA/ANSI S1.15, Part 2 – Electroacoustics -MEASUREMENT MICROPHONES – Part 2: Primary method for pressure calibration of laboratory standard microphones by the reciprocity technique
- ASA/ANSI S1.15, Part 3 – Electroacoustics – MEASUREMENT MICROPHONES – Part 3: Primary method for free-field calibration of laboratory standard microphones by the reciprocity technique
- ASA/ANSI S1.15, Part 4 – Electroacoustics – MEASUREMENT MICROPHONES Part 4: Specifications for working standard microphones
- ASA/ANSI S1.15, Part 5 – Electroacoustics – MEASUREMENT MICROPHONES – Part 5: Methods for pressure calibration of working standard microphones by comparison
- ASA/ANSI S1.15, Part 6 – Electroacoustics – MEASUREMENT MICROPHONES – Part 6: Electrostatic actuators for determination of frequency response
- ASA/ANSI S1.15, Part 7 – Electroacoustics – MEASUREMENT MICROPHONES – Part 7: Values for the difference between free field and pressure sensitivity levels of laboratory standard microphones
- ASA/ANSI S1.15, Part 8: Electroacoustics – MEASUREMENT MICROPHONES – Part 8: Methods for determining the free-field sensitivity of working standard microphones by comparison.
