Working Group on Measurement and Evaluation of Outdoor Community Noise
Chair: Mark Bastasch
Scope: Develop and maintain standards for outdoor environmental noise that deal with:
- Definitions and nomenclature
- Measurements, including both short-term measurements and long-term monitoring.
- Modeling of environmental noise
- Quantitative evaluation of the effects of environmental noise such as annoyance, complaints, sleep disturbance, disturbance by noise-induced vibration and rattles
- Compatible land use planning with respect to noise.
