scala media

3.54  scala media. Cavity of the cochlear duct, filled with endolymph. The scala media is separated from the scala vestibuli by Reissner’s membrane and from the scala tympani by the basilar membrane. The scala media has a closed end at the helicotrema. See 3.26.
