Working Group on Criteria for Room Noise
Chair: Brandon Cudequest
Scope: To develop a method for rating the noise encountered in various types of rooms in terms of its effect upon people by means of: a weighting network, and a computational procedure to account for temporal pattern of the noise and the need for tone correction as appropriate. The purpose of this method is to arrive at a common yardstick for evaluating environmental noise indoors. In addition to this main charge, also charged with the development and measurement procedures to be utilized in various types of rooms including methods for translating the results of such measurement in the common yardstick.
