4.43 minimum audible field. Sound pressure level of a tone at the threshold of audibility measured in a free sound field for a subject listening with both ears and facing the sound source. The magnitude of the sound pressure level at the position to be occupied by the center of the subject’s head is measured with the subject removed from the field.
