5.06  correct dismissal; true dismissal. A “noise-alone” response (output) following a “noise-alone” stimulus (input) occurring in a detection task during a specified observation interval.

Annotation 1      A correct detection and a false alarm are mutually exclusive for a “noise-alone” stimulus.

Annotation 2      The task could involve a signal-present or no-signal condition in the case of detection in quiet.
