We’re delighted to announce Mechanical Shock Consulting has joined ASA Standards as a new organizational member.

Mechanical Shock Consulting, founded by Vesta Bateman, PhD, consults with various organizations on pyroshock/ballistic shock measurements, data acquisition and data analyses.

Dr. Bateman is a mechanical shock specialist and retired from Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM after twenty-seven years of service. She was the Facility Leader for the Mechanical Shock Laboratory at Sandia National Laboratories where she was responsible for a wide spectrum of mechanical shock testing including drop table, Hopkinson bar, horizontal pneumatic actuator, rocket rail, live pyroshock and pyroshock simulation shock tests.

Dr. Bateman, as part of the company’s ASA Standards membership, will serve on ASC S2, Mechanical Vibration and Shock, with James T. Nelson as Chair and with Anthony Nash as Vice Chair.

Dr. Bateman also will serve on U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 108, Mechanical Vibration, Shock, and Condition Monitoring, chaired by Donald Peterson.
