6.10  band audibility function. For a given frequency band, the effective proportion of speech dynamic range within the band that contributes to speech intelligibility under conditions that are less than optimal.

Annotation 1      The value of the audibility function is limited to the interval between 0 and 1.0.

Annotation 2      Less than optimal speech conditions may be caused by the presence of noise, reverberation, high presentation level, or some speech components at sound pressure levels below the threshold of hearing.
