7.52 ear simulator. Device which approximates the acoustic transfer impedance of the inner part of the human ear canal, from the tip of an ear mold to the eardrum.
Annotation 1 Ear simulators fall into the following four categories:
- acoustic couplers;
- artificial ears/occluded ear simulators;
- head and torso simulators (HATS);
- mechanical couplers for the calibration of bone vibrators.
