Device having one or more rigid pistons which can be given a reciprocating motion at a nominal frequency and amplitude used to establish a nominal sound pressure in a closed cavity of small dimensions. The sound pressure level in the closed cavity may be established by a comparison calibration under specified environmental conditions.
